GLOBALIZATION ISSUES

Globalization is defined as the change in social structure at macro level. At the present time, many events or social phenomena which is indicated as the impact of globalization, call it crime, environmental damage. technological developments, income distribution and welfare is good effects or bad effects of globalization (Cohen and Kennedy 2000).

Also (Giddens 1994) defines globalization as a process of forming a network between a region that has a background of social and economic life of different into one network with other regions on the surface of this earth.
Globalization and Social Issues has been a matter of debate that "hot" in the last two decades. Not least because globalization has positive and negative. By simple logic, free of globalization has many positive effects for a State, an increase in social welfare, increasing per capita living standards, market access is an example of a positive result from free trade (Lorand Bartels 2004). And the World Trade Organization claiming that the primary objective of globalization is to improve living standards in a State .
However, a symbiotic mutualism between Globalization & Social Issues into something ambiguous. At a certain level of economic structural changes caused by increased trade can absorb the amount of labor and reduce unemployment, but also can lead to prolonged unemployment in unproductive sectors.

Ambiguity between
Globalization & Social Issues also occurs in the environment. On the one hand, economic efficiency resulting from trade efficiency can provide efficiency in the use of natural resources. But on the other hand, the increase in economic activity caused by the increasing number of trade can lead to massive exploitation of natural resources and irresponsibility in terms of social, environmental, and human rights made by company on its business activities.

From the consumer side, globalization can increase the purchasing power of consumer to consumer goods and consumers can freely choose the goods will be bought, because mandapatkan ease market access both domestic and imported goods. But the social values at stake, in which a State may lose their identity and culture due to the absorption and consumption as well as the tendency to use the imported goods that are considered better quality
